Really healthy fish, a good selection of Bettas, and a fantastic aquatic plant selection. The fish prices are a bit higher than other stores, but you get what you pay for. They also have a wide selection of frozen fish food at good prices.

After visiting 20 or so fish stores in the twin cities area, I can easily say that Forest Lake Pets is the best. Best selection of fish, healthiest fish and wonderful plant selection. The owners and the staff are friendly and better yet knowledgeable about fish! If you’re going to visit, be prepared to spend at least an hour minimum, there is just so much to see!

I thought this store seems like a hidden gem. Reminds me of real Pet stores from days gone by. It is jam packed with pets. Fish look very healthy and prices looked to be very low compared with big corporate stores. Staff were friendly even knowing we came to look and not buy today.

If you love aquariums and any type of fish, both saltwater and freshwater, this is definitely a pet store you will want to visit! They have the largest number of fish varieties I have ever seen in one place. It is an absolutely amazing shop.

It's very hard to find an authentic aquarium shop like this these days. Huge selection, highly recommend. Additionally I really appreciate that I didn't see any bettas in cups, only in tanks like they should be.

I absolutely adore this store. Huge variety and great pricing compared to your average big box store. Well worth the 30-ish minute drive I make from the cities. Staff have always been friendly to me and willing to talk about whatever I need help with (a huge plus as a young person with social anxiety!) The place is huge! Their selection of fish is always a wonder to look at and I especially love to see their big ol African Lung Fish. Only wish from me is that I wish there was a place to sit for a moment. Being at the store is normally a longer endeavor for me and being disabled I find it really hard to look at all I want to without a place to sit for a moment to rest. I certainly won’t let that effect my rating though since that’s a very *me* issue.

Best selection of live fish in the metro area, and their tanks are maintained well. They often carry larger and predatory fish too.

Great place for all your freshwater and saltwater tank needs. They take care of amazing species and aquatic plants. The outside always misled me, but this place is a little gem now that we have two tanks.

The fish/animals are happy & well-taken care of. Prices are fair & it's very fun to look around. The fish that came home with us seem happy so far & look healthy. They have anything and everything you need :-) Update: it's been a couple weeks & the fish are still healthy and thriving! We're looking forward to making another trip down soon.
